South East Children’s Service
Within the South East area, we have multiple provisions for children’s residential care. Our homes provide care for children and young people aged 6-18. These provisions deliver a trauma-informed approach to our children working closely with the staff teams to provide a safe, homely, and nurturing environment where the young people are supported to build resilience as they create a life they choose to live and resume self-control and responsibility for their behaviour. We welcome young people who have encountered a traumatic experience, have behavioural or mental health difficulties and/or have experienced or are at risk of sexual exploitation. We provide a holistic and nurturing home dynamic, which will offer our young people access to therapy and able to provide a space for home- schooling when needed. We create positive opportunities, so our young people feel happy, safe and healthy.
We have a solo provision for young people aged 6-18 who may need extra support and guidance due to social behaviour and emotional difficulties, learning disabilities or mental health difficulties, which either makes it very difficult to, or they choose not to, live within in shared accommodation at this time. This provision offers support for all young people who have encountered a traumatic experience, have behavioural or mental health difficulties and/or have experienced or are at risk of sexual exploitation. Admissions are planned with a longer transition, (placements will be for a minimum of 3 months and be able to offer both short & long-term placement), but the home will always ensure that the needs of the young person to be placed, can be met.
