Birchwood is a registered service for adults with learning and physical disabilities, providing specialist support for individuals with complex healthcare needs. Our team is experienced in delivering high‑quality care such as PEG and JEJ feeding, medication administration (including via PEG), and stoma and catheter care. We also offer comprehensive moving and handling support, supported by in‑house trainers who deliver Medication and Moving & Handling training and routinely assess staff competency to ensure safe, confident practice.
The service is made up of three fully wheelchair‑accessible bungalows with a total of 14 bedrooms. Each person we support has their own personalised bedroom, all equipped with en‑suite bathrooms and hoisting facilities throughout to promote comfort, dignity and independence.
Birchwood offers warm and welcoming shared spaces, including a communal lounge, a kitchen area and an accessible garden designed for relaxation and social time. The service also has its own dedicated vehicle, enabling easy access to appointments, day trips and activities in the community.
We are conveniently located close to local shops and amenities, with excellent transport links via nearby London Underground and bus routes – making Birchwood a well‑connected and supportive place to live.
“Throughout the inspection we observed exceptionally warm, respectful and meaningful interactions between staff and the people they supported. Staff knew people well and demonstrated a strong understanding of people’s individual communication needs, including recognising and responding to appropriate responses.”
