Sharon Field, dedicated Home Manager, is nominated for Great British Care Awards!

Sharon Field Salutem Care and Education Bullpoint Manager

Sharon Field, our Manager at Bull Point and Annex House in Barne Barton, has been nominated for the Home Care Registered Manager Award at this year’s Great British Care Awards!

Seventeen years ago, Sharon began working as a Night Support Worker for Modus Care, and two years ago was promoted to Manager. Sharon completed her Level 5 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care, being supported by our learning and development team.

The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the care sector and recognise individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding calibre in their field. The Home Care Registered Manager Award is given to the Registered Home Care Manager that has demonstrated an exceptional ability in managing the complexities of a care home. The Managers nominated are able to meet the ever-changing needs of service users and are committed to person centred care and support.

Sharon was nominated for the Home Care Registered Manager Award, and said: “I am honoured to be nominated for this award, even though initially I thought it was an error.”

“A few months ago, I received an email nominating me for the ancillary award, but I assumed it was for Andrew Baugh, our maintenance manager so I didn’t pay any attention. Then, a couple of days ago, I had a call telling me that I had reached the final for the Home Care Registered Manager Award and would have a Zoom call with two judges to determine who the award would go to. I was very nervous, but the two judges were great, and we discussed everything from how the home is run to what is important to me as a manager.”

“All I want is to ensure that the people that my team and I care for receive the same opportunities, love and home life as everyone else, so I am thrilled to have been recognised for my efforts”
