Located in South Shields, South Tyneside, Wallace Mews is a 24-hour residential home for up
to 15 adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Our dedicated team creates a
welcoming and supportive environment where people can enjoy active, fulfilling lives while
maintaining their individuality, independence, dignity and choice.
Wallace Mews is a fully accessible service with lift and wheelchair access throughout.
Individuals have their own spacious en-suite bedrooms, which can be personalised to reflect
their tastes and preferences, helping them feel truly at home. Bathrooms are equipped with
hoisting facilities to support those with additional mobility needs.
The service benefits from a large accessible garden and is within walking distance of local
shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and the beach. Individuals are encouraged to lead active
and fulfilling lives through a varied programme of in-house and community activities, including
day trips, bakery classes, bowling and monthly discos. Wallace Mews also has its own
accessible transport, helping people access local amenities, activities and opportunities.
Excellent transport links across South Tyneside and to nearby cities including Newcastle,
Sunderland and Durham support individuals to stay connected to their communities and enjoy
greater choice and independence.
