King’s Trust

The King’s Trust supports young people aged 11 to 30 who are facing disadvantage or adversity, helping them build confidence, skills, and opportunities to move forward in life.

During 2024/25, the Trust supported 67,368 young people across the UK through its Education, Employability and Enterprise programmes.

Within Salutem, we are proud to partner with The King’s Trust to provide comprehensive support for candidates as they begin their journey into the social care sector. This includes practical assistance with identification documentation, particularly where financial help may be needed to obtain right-to-work documents such as passports. The King’s Trust also plays an active role in the onboarding process, ensuring forms are completed swiftly and queries are answered promptly.

Once a candidate’s start date is confirmed, The King’s Trust can provide financial support for initial travel costs, covering buses, trains, or fuel cards, helping to remove barriers and make the transition into employment smoother.

In addition, we collaborate with The King’s Trust to deliver a specialist course designed to open pathways into social care. Across the programme, participants gain sector-specific knowledge, build confidence in their interview skills, and take part in guaranteed interviews for Support Worker roles with Salutem. They also meet our team, learn about the rewards and realities of working in social care, and benefit from tailored one-to-one mentoring after the course, ensuring they have the guidance and support needed to thrive in their new career.

If you would like to find out more about The King’s Trust or explore the support available, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

James Watson

After finishing university, I was unsure about which career path to pursue. I was recommended The King’s Trust Get Started in Social Care course – an area I hadn’t considered before.

I approached the week-long course with an open mind and a willingness to learn about a new industry. It provided valuable insight into the health and social care sector and introduced me to Salutem, whose core values, such as loyalty, really resonated with me.

By the end of the week, I felt prepared to undertake an interview, which led to a job offer. This opportunity allowed me to take my first steps into a truly rewarding career, where the impact you have on those you support is immense.
