The Finance Team pulled on their gardening gloves, got their green fingers ready, and headed to Birchwood for a fun-filled day of volunteering in the garden.
They spent the day weeding, pruning, planting, and trimming — helping to get Birchwood’s beautiful outdoor spaces ready to bloom again next spring.🌷
Birchwood’s Service Manager, Katarzyna Stopa-Kucab, gave the team a warm welcome and treated them to a delicious homemade lunch, which was very well deserved after a busy morning outdoors!
In the afternoon, the team had the chance to spend time with some of the individuals supported at Birchwood. They joined in an engaging art session, where creativity and laughter filled the room — a definite highlight of the day.
Carolyn Symcox, finance director at Salutem Care and Education, said:
“It was a fantastic experience to spend time at Birchwood and get involved in something so different from our usual day jobs. The team was amazing, and it was inspiring to meet the individuals we support and see the wonderful work being done by the staff. We can’t wait to go back and see the gardens in full bloom next spring.”
Here, at Salutem, volunteering days like this provide colleagues with a special opportunity to connect with services, see the impact of their work firsthand, and give back in a meaningful way. These hands-on experiences strengthen relationships, lift morale, and reinforce our shared sense of purpose.
