We’re really excited to share that Chiron Online Education Platform (OEP), part of Salutem Care and Education, has been recognised by the Department for Education after meeting national standards for online education.

Following assessment through the DfE’s Online Education Accreditation Scheme, Ofsted has confirmed that Chiron OEP meets all required standards for full-time online providers—an important milestone for both our team and the young people we support.

Chiron OEP works with secondary-aged pupils who aren’t currently able to access mainstream education, often due to complex needs, trauma, or extended periods out of the classroom. Many of the young people we support have been out of education for months, or even years, so our focus is on helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and take their next steps, whether that’s returning to school or moving into post-16 education.

Chiron’s also been working closely with Jigsaw24 to ensure our technology supports this in the best possible way. Chiron OEP is the first accredited provision using a device-led model with managed Apple iPads, with every student provided with a device to access our bespoke platform.

Ayesha Allen, principal of Chiron OEP, said: “Chiron exists to bring education to young people who need it, but who are not currently able to get into the classroom.

“Many of the pupils we work with have been out of education for a long time, often after very difficult experiences, so our first priority is to understand them as individuals and help them rebuild confidence in themselves as learners.

“Online education allows us to create a safe, consistent environment where relationships can be rebuilt and learning can start again. From there, we can support young people to move forward, whether that is returning to school or working towards qualifications.”

Ofsted highlighted the strength of relationships across the provision, noting that pupils are supported in a safe, nurturing environment and that teaching is adapted effectively to meet individual needs. The report also recognised how assessment is used to identify gaps in learning and personalise support, helping pupils make progress both academically and personally. Feedback from parents and carers has been equally positive, with many noticing improvements in confidence, engagement, and overall wellbeing.

We’re incredibly proud of what the Chiron OEP team has achieved and look forward to continuing to support young people to reconnect with learning and move forward with confidence.
