Since arriving at The Knoll in May 2025, RT has experienced a remarkable period of growth, confidence, and renewed independence. When he first joined the service, RT found verbal communication challenging and relied on a writing board to express his needs. The team at The Knoll worked closely with him from day one, ensuring he felt safe, understood, and fully supported in his new environment.
Over the past few months, RT has made incredible progress, he has begun speaking again. This has brought renewed joy and confidence into his daily life. His personality continues to shine through more and more each day, and he feels increasingly in control of his choices and his wellbeing. One standout moment for RT was being able to tell the team, in his own voice, how happy he feels living at The Knoll. This milestone reflects the trust he has built with the staff and the comfort he feels within his new home.

RT has also embraced a wide range of activities that support his independence and wellbeing. Inside the home, he enjoys pottery, chair yoga, and G-fitness sessions. He has also been active in the community, taking trips to the cinema, visiting the seafront, going bowling, personal shopping, and exploring local shops and attractions. These experiences have helped RT feel more involved, confident, and empowered in everyday life.
RT’s advocate has also noted the positive impact The Knoll has had on his wellbeing, sharing that staff have been consistently supportive and that RT appears happy, engaged, and well cared for.
RT’s journey is a wonderful reflection of what person-centred support can achieve, a home where confidence grows, voices are rediscovered, and individuals are empowered to thrive.
